Is it safe to stay in a Hostel?

Yes it can be safe to stay in the hostel I personally have never worried or felt unsafe. However understand that you can be in danger no matter where you are so expect the unexpected, stay alert, and be cautious. Things can happen but remember sometimes its people or other hostel stayers that can be bad and not necessarily the place of business. Remember that you can’t control what other people do. You control own experience, if you do not feel safe understand that you can always leave and find other accommodation’s.

How much does it cost to stay in a hostel?

Prices to stay in a hostel can vary from inexpensive and to very pricey but it depends on the country.

In Bali, Thailand you can expect to see prices as low as $3 to $20 a night on average but can be higher or crazy enough can be lower than $3. Their exchange rate is much lower so the American dollar stretches pretty far in other countries.

The Hostels in the United States prices are much higher here I’ve seen the price average around $30-$60 a night. However I have seen some as high as $200-$300 a night which is crazy high but that’s America I guess. If you want more bang for your buck stay in a Hostel in another country.

Do hostels have private rooms?

Yes! Hostels do have private rooms though they are more expensive.

Some Hostels do charge crazy prices for their private rooms so you should definitely look into staying at a hotel. Hotel rooms are sometimes a cheaper price than the private rooms in hostels so check before booking.

How long can you stay in a Hostels?

It varies I have booked for just 1 night before but some Hostels may have a 3 day minimum. Some platforms let you book up to 1 week or even 30 days but that doesn’t mean they wont let you book again immediately after. If there is room available at the hostel they may let you book again for extensive time but if that doesn’t work you can always try to book a long stay at another hostel and when your time is up try going back to the first one for another long stay but you didn’t here it from me. Use this at your own discretion, you never want to overstay your welcome anywhere.

Do you share bathrooms in a Hostel?

If you have a shared room you may have a bathroom with just your suite mates. There may be community bathrooms on each floor to share with everyone in the building.

Do Hostels have Laundry rooms?

Only some hostels have laundry rooms to wash your clothes while at your hostel. However a lot of them are adding them to there amenities and if not they should I feel like it would definitely encourage more people to stay longer

Are Hostels hard to sleep in?

My first experience staying in a hostel I did have some trouble sleeping due to one of my suite mates in the room but I believe she was having some personal issues and this was just a random occurrence. Any other time I was out like a light probably exhausted from exploring the town I honestly feel like I had some of my best sleep when I was traveling the world soon as I hit the pillow I was out of it and up bright and early to tackle the day.

Do things get stolen in Hostels?

I would say that it is possible for your personal items to get stolen, however it has never happened to me however some hostels do offer lockers you just need to bring your own lock. If your hostel does not provide a locker you can always put your stuff in your bunk with you that what I did other people just sat there stuff in the room on the floor but its entirely up to you.

Are Hostels separated by gender?

A lot of Hostel rooms are separated by gender however mixed gender rooms are also common worldwide however. I personally have not stayed in a mixed gender room I usually don’t pick that option
