What will happen if Tiktok gets banned in the US?
We’re taking it back!
With TikTok soon to disappear, & people no longer feeling connected to Instagram, others fleeing Twitter aka X, and Facebook being Facebook many of us are looking for new ways to spend our time.
Update: TikTok is back for now but the plan to obtain physical media is still on
Streaming Services : Are they still worth it?
Also many streaming services are charging an arm and a leg or adding advertisements or removing some of our favorite shows or worse locking certain shows so you can only watch them with specific plans.
Returning to Childhood Favorites: Physical Media Is Back
Myself and many others have looked towards our childhoods for ideas such as dvds 📀, vhs tapes, books, and records.
I personally have started collected dvds 📀 from my favorite movies 🍿 🎥 and tv shows that I’m prone to watch on repeat.
Alternatives to Streaming Services
Though I have one or more streaming services I have been getting rid of them over the past few months as they just don’t seem worth it anymore. You can’t guarantee that all your favorite shows or movies are going to be there they can be removed over time and I was tired of it so I took matters into my own hands.
I wrote down all my favorites and looked for physical copies online and will be scouting thrift stores to search as well.
Another thing I do now as well is find free sites to watch stuff such as Tubi right now I’m watching gossip girl for the first time can’t believe I didn’t watch it before.
Rediscovering Books and Blogs
Another option is to get a library card and borrow your physical media like books, dvds, or even video games or you can download apps like Libby and Hoopla to watch stuff through your library for free or borrow books online.
There are so many options now.
Rediscovering Books and Blogs
I’ve also gone back to reading a lot of articles blogs were always my first love growing up and I couldn’t wait to start my own.
As far as social media platforms go many say they won’t be downloading any new apps many of us are tired of it and need our attention span back.
The Future for TikTok Creators After the Ban
Some creators say when TikTok is gone they will be down creating content as it was the only social media app they genuinely liked.
There has been much discourse about whether those same content creators will be able to make YouTube work for them or not. The general consensus has been “NO” they feel it would take too much of a time commitment, won’t be as rewarding , and does not operate on a similar algorithm so it just won’t feel the same.
My Take on Creating Content
Personally I was never hugely into creating on social media sites I tried but it just was not for me I’m more into search engine oriented creating like Pinterest, Blogging, and I will try YouTube again just need to find my own rhythm.
With that being said i hope you all continue this journey with me and my blog until next Sunday
