Things I learned traveling

Things I learned traveling

Book at least 2-3 days at my hostel or hotel in advance to secure my spot and leave time for me to rest the first day and site see / walk around the next with no rush to get to the next destination and so I don’t have to carry my luggage with me everywhere I go

rolling luggage is my friend carrying a backpack was very stressful and painful for my back. Also allows me to bring more things with me

 mini toiletries

if you must collect make sure it’s something lightweight -Adriana

I don’t exactly feel different like I thought I would, I thought I would feel excited and liberated but most days just feel normal except I don’t know what street I’m on and some days I actually am bored and don’t know what to do.

my mind is a lot clearer, I’m not over thinking 💭 at all really

I hardly watch Netflix or Hulu at all

only time I’m on social media most of the time is to post a video or picture on my story

my back rarely bothers me…that’s weird maybe from my last adjustment idk 🤷🏾‍♀️

in some ways it made me appreciate Baltimore because it’s so walkable it’s easier to enjoy exploring by foot

Baltimore has so many interesting places to eat it was hard to find good places out of town for me without really hunting I ended up eating Chick-fil-A most of the time

the short tripod is not good enough need a taller one and or selfie 🤳 stick

bring plenty of food if your going to be on a train for two days nothing fried or things that need to be reheated : steak, baked or sautéed chicken, rice ,corn

I can always buy things when I get to my destination

plane is faster but has restrictions for what you can and can’t bring on a plane ✈️ like liquids and self defense items

if you wanna be comfortable bring a blanket , dress warm, I changed into slippers and cozy socks too

you’ll meet other travelers in hostels so you can meet people and make connections or friends but during Covid it’s a little hard for me personally because I still try to social distance as much as I can

if you plan to eat out look up some places before you go because trying to decide last minute is stressful and can make you hangry

if you are catching the California Zephyr train I think it’s worth it to get a sleeper because I traveled coach on my rail pass ticket and there are a lot of perks riding coach does not grant you

pack light if you can you may not need all the toiletries you think you do for example most hotels provide body wash, shampoo and conditioner

bad cell reception so can’t contact the important people in my life when I want

very hard to eat healthy & drink water on the road

it’s not fun living out of a suitcase so I debunked this fact that I thought about myself.

roughing is not as cool as it looked all the time hostels vs. hotels

I very much enjoyed the luxury living and alone time I even slept better.
