5 Travel must haves when traveling solo

Let’s start off with the base which is a nice size travel bag. not too big, not too small probably perfect as a personal item carry on but do check your local airlines weight and dimension requirements. I got mine from Amazon and use it for daily use as well as for work daily. There are plenty off compartements to store things. I usually I am able to fit my laptop and enough outfits for a quick weekend trip.

- Battery Pack
Next for my electronics, a portable battery pack is a must have and I never leave for a trip without one or from home for long periods of time without it. I personally think it is best to have two portable chargers. One with a short charge and one with a long charge just to keep one charging while the other is in use.
This larger one I bought for my trips and for emergencies like power outages at home it is hefty and takes a while to fully charge but charges my devices super quick without the battery percentage going down a lot I get charge my devices quite a few times when the large portable charger is fully charged.
The next one is smaller and more compact but is really good as well as well. I bought it for my mom because she is always out with dying phone, she uses it a lot it works very well it was definitely a good purchase.
This is one item you are not going to want to forget. Whether you are out exploring or in your hostel you never know the circumstances in which you will be able to get to an outlet. You may not have one where you are sleeping. These days our phones do a lot for us so make sure your phone is kept charged at all times make sure to keep your portable battery pack charger on deck.

This next item I bought on a whim while I was already on a trip and honestly it changed my life. It is a neck pillow I bought a couple years ago for my Amtrak Trip Across America . It’s been like 3 years and I use it daily because it is so comfortable and has helped a lot with the back issues that I have from neck retraction so it provides me with great neck support. However you may only need it for sleeping as most do so whether you are taking a long train ride like me or taking a flight you should grab yourself a neck pillow.
2. Lock

For the safety of your personal belongings you are going to want a lock. You may be using it for your actual luggage or backpack or some hostels may have lockers for you to put your stuff in. This is added extra piece of mind for when you are sleeping or when you leave your hostel and want keep your stuff safe while you are out.

3. Money Belt
Another way for you to feel secure is to have a money belt. It stays under your clothes out of sight. Lets face it we never know if we may lose our belongings or if you will get pick pocketed so just in case keep a little extra on your person for extra reassurance in case of an emergency.

4. Mini toiletries or none at all
Let me save you some back pain by telling you not to bring normal sized hygiene products you can get stuff when you actually get in the town of your destination and drop it off at your accommodation. Another option is you can use the free products that are usually going to be at a lot of places but are not guaranteed but trust me just settle for the small mini products in the travel section of walmart or target.

5. Tripod
Not just any tripod definitely not one of those short ones you sit on the desk compact one that can extend a few feet high. I learned my lesson from my last trip i brought one of those really short ones and i could not get the best pictures because you have to stand really far back for it to get everything in view in the picture .
